Beauty and health
Phuket has some splendid spas and massage experiences that should help soothe away your pains and improve both body and mind. Try a traditional Thai massage or invigorating body scrub and you'll no doubt be impressed and feel rejuvenated.
Phuket has three seasons. The cool season (actually quite hot), the hot season (very hot), and the rainy season (hot and wet). The climate is dictated by the monsoon winds. That is the direction of the prevailing winds caused by the difference in the way oceans and land retain heat.
Thailand is a Buddhist country and you will fully experience that Buddhist atmosphere of smiles and hospitality on Phuket.
There are plenty of temples worth a visit, the most notable being Wat Phra Thong featuring a half buried Buddha.
Chinese immigrants influenced the local culture, and you will come across some colorful Chinese shrines.
If you love food, you will love Phuket. There are restaurants to suit every taste serving a huge selection of western and Asian food. The variety of cuisine and dining experiences is one of the major attractions of the island. You can eat breakfast at your hotel, lunch at a local noodle stall by the roadside, and have dinner with fine wines in a sophisticated air-conditioned restaurant.
